AT LAST.....

Well it's been awhile since I have posted anything on this blog. My summer was crazy busy with work and school and hanging out with family and friends! I actually got to do a lot of crafts over the summer with my job. One day I will update the craft side of things! Especially since my lil sis not only got married in June but also announced last week that she is producing a child and he/she's debut will happen sometime in May. I am determined to save up my money and buy a sewing machine and learn how to make baby items! Feel free to donate to my cause :)

RUNNING!!! I have recently re-discovered my love/hate relationship with running. I took the summer off from running bc I'm lazy, it was freaking hot and life just got busy. Don't worry I still kept up with my P90X. (I know you were all worried). I just started running back up two weeks ago. Today I accomplished a big feat for me. I ran 2.5 miles in 20 minutes which means...DRUM ROLL PLEASE....

I RAN AN 8 MIN MILE!!!

Now I know you advent runners are thinking big whoopty do. I can run a 5 min mile. Well I don't care because that last time I ran 2.5 miles it was an 11 minute mile and that was last Saturday! So I have improved quite a bit in one week. Not to mention this old day here will be turning 30 in less than a week! 30 PEOPLE!! Oh my gosh! Where have my 20's gone too?

Anywho that's my big news all around! I hope to update my blog on crafts again soon. Until then feel free to donate to my sewing machine cause and to push yourself to run even if it's only for 5 mins! It's something!!!

Mother's Day Gifts..

I posted an earlier entry about me helping with Mother's Days' gifts. Well Mother's Day has come and gone and here is a few pictures of just a few of the crafts I helped with. My favorite of course is the shadow box my friend Becca and I made for my B.F.F Wendy.

ENjoy :)
The proud ma ma Deb with her butterfly footprints from Anna

It took all this to make...

This wonderful shadow box.
Wendy loves Wonder Woman and Anna
wore a Wonder Woman onsie home from the hospital

This is just because I couldn't resist!
I just LOVE this little girl!

p.s I can't seem to get the other pictures of the other crafts to upload :(

Summer Fun Anyone??

I have an amazing job! No, really I do! Most people aren't as lucky as I am to have a great job but really I do! I love the people I work with and 99.9% of the time I enjoy the work they ask me to do.

The place of my employment does a Summer Fun Guide every year. Now this Summer Fun Guide lists over 100 different business and what programs (for kids and/or adults) they will be offering for the summer. We also include information for museums and other fun things to do around Louisiana. I won't lie though, putting the guide together (which was my job this year) was NOT fun! I tried several times to get them to fire me from this particular task but I failed at each attempt. Miserably I might add.

Anyway back to the point of this blog post. This year our business' theme is A Seussical Summer. Which means we are planning our activities and decorations around Dr. Seuss books and characters. I am really excited about it and the decorations are coming along quite nicely. I am also hoping, pleading, begging and even praying my AWESOME boss will let me dress up as a Dr. Seuss character at some point during the summer!!!

I will probably be posting several different pictures of the crafts we complete as we go about decorating! Like I said I am really looking forward to this summer and the finished decorations. We are planning on making a Lorax and the Truffula trees that he,the Lorax, speaks for. Until those are done here are pictures of our blown up, traced, shaded, cut out and eventually laminated of One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish!!

I LOVE being CRAFTY!!

The smaller cards you see in each picture are what we used to print out on a transparency sheet so that we could use our nifty old fashioned overhead projector to trace the images larger. Not too shabby eh?
